Initiated in partnership by People to People International and the Europe of Cultures Forum, this event was part of the PTPI's European Conference, held in Pécs from May 20 to 23, and which gathered people from all over Europe and from overseas.
This series of manifestations were also included in the programs planned for the city of Pécs as one of the European Capitals of Culture in 2010. Accordingly, amongst others, artistic performances have enriched the meetings.

The title of European Capital of Culture has been shared by 3 cities : Pécs, Essen for the Ruhr, Istanbul
The 2011 European Capital of Culture are : Talinn (Estonia), Turku (Finland)

Impacts 08 : a joint research initiative of the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University, which has been evaluating the social, cultural, economic and environmental effects of Liverpool’s hosting the European Capital of Culture title in 2008. They have now developed a model for evaluating the multiple impacts of culture-led regeneration programmes that can be applied to events across the UK and internationally.
